Methods of contextualising 01
The object we chose from V&A Rapid Response collection in our group is a hand knitted joey pouch.

We’ve had discussions about the basic things about joey pouch, and shared the personal answers for the questions again from the brief.

Then we started to do the basic research about the pouch and the Australia’s wildfire which was the background of this object.

And we came to few ideas while we are searching for the informations about the pouch. One is that the museum setting for this object is not friendly enough to address the actual problem behind the object, which is wildfire. The other thing is the knitting community couldn’t show the cause sufficiently, lack of information about the real cause of the fire, which the captions with the display also pointing out. Plus we’ve also talked about the website of ‘wires’ is not friendly enough to provide people about the instructions about making joey pouches.

After all those discussions and researches we had common thoughts about ‘telling people about the real cause of the fire’ and ‘providing them the informations about climate crisis in a friendly way’. So we narrowed down the key points that we want to develop ;

So in our group we briefly decided that we will try to create the interaction based website talking about the climate crisis (also fire) and instructional booklet about how to knit which is educating people in a friendly/welcoming way.

Personal drafts about the ideas ; Based on what we discussed and the direction we set, I did some idea sketches/drafts and researches.
